The 5 Best Websites For Online Shoe Shopping

By Kristen Peuvion on October 11, 2014

Online shopping for clothes can be a real pain in the neck. You never know how something is going to fit, there’s added prices for shipping, return policies can be a nightmare and not to mention, you usually have to wait at least a week before your purchase even gets to you. Bottom line: online shopping is always a gamble.

But these are just the concerns for your average online clothing purchases. What about online shopping for shoes?

When you’re shopping for shoes, it seems the struggles multiply. I mean, buying shoes in stores can be tough, so buying them online can be a real problem. Shoes, more so than other items of apparel, are something that you really won’t know how they fit until you try them on.

So you might be wondering, can shoes even be bought online? Should you even bother? The answer is yes! You can definitely buy shoes online, and do so successfully, as long as you know the right places to shop.

Here’s a list of five of the best sites to buy shoes from!

Zappos

I could go on and on about the benefits of buying shoes online from Zappos. For starters, they carry shoes in just about every size imaginable, ranging from size one for children all the way up to size 20 for women. Most shoe stores don’t carry sizes above an 11 for women which makes Zappos the perfect place to shop if your feet are on the larger side.

Another Zappos perk: the website is super easy to navigate. You can filter your search to virtually anything you’re looking for. Have a certain price range in mind? A certain color? A certain style? A certain designer? Just check all of the appropriate boxes and Zappos will help you find what you’re looking for. Their selection is huge so it’ll be tough not to find something you love!

The cherry on top of using Zappos for your online shoe shopping needs is the fact that they offer free shipping and returns on any order! There’s none of that “spend $50 and get free shipping!” nonsense. Instead, it’s free on every order.

ASOS

ASOS is a UK online-only retailer that sells clothing from various brands all in one convenient location.

ASOS is known for having on-trend merchandise at reasonable prices, shoes included! So lucky for you, you’ll be able to snag some trendy footwear for, more often than not, less than $100. Who can complain about that?

Frye

Frye specializes mostly in cowboy boots, so if that’s what you’re looking for, there is no question that this is the site to choose. That’s a pretty specific purchase, though, one that many of you may not be interested in, so what else does Frye have to offer, you may ask.

Well, while their specialty may be cowboy boots, more broadly that is indicative of a specialty in finely crafted leather shoes. So you may not be looking for cowboy boots, but a pair of their finely crafted sandals or loafers may be more enticing.

Because they pride themselves on their fine craftsmanship, they even throw in a fantastic two year warranty on all purchases made directly from their store or website, meaning that for up to two years after your purchase, they will fix any damages to your shoes.

What’s not to love about that deal?

Cynthia Vincent

While this website doesn’t have a lot in terms of their footwear collection, it is definitely worth taking a look at. Most shoe stores and online shoe collections are full of ankle breaking, six inch stilettos, but not Cynthia Vincent’s site.

Instead, this designer’s shoes are all reasonably high (or low depending on how you look at it). It’s not only that they are a reasonable height, but most of her designs include a chunkier heel which gives you added comfort and walking ability.

While Vincent’s shoes will cost you about $200 – $350, they’re worth the price. Comfy, stylish heels are every girls’ dream!

DSW

DSW rounds out the list for obvious reasons. Not only does the DSW website offer you thousands of footwear options, but it does so at a great price.

Their shoes are usual reasonably priced to begin with, but whenever I check out this website, there is almost always a special or sale going on, reducing the prices even more.

It might be frustrating looking through all of their thousands of options, but at the prices they offer, you can’t really complain. If you’re online shoe shopping on a budget, DSW’s site should be at the top of your list.
